they all have external rust. the metal is like 1/4 thick, it would take years of sitting on the bottom of the ocean to rust thru. i find it funny how the west coast people freak out if they see alittle rust on their propane tank, and then spend $400 for a new one..

just wire brush yours and repaint it.
