Indeed, I am guilty of replying before reading thoroughly. I too would
disagree with the assertion that SENDERS are inaccurate. The only inaccurate
sender situation I've ever seen had everything to do with the wiring and the
electrical connection. I'm sure the thermistor in the sender was fine.
Thermistor resistance curves are well understood. Even the shoddiest run of
thermistors from the least reputable manufacturer will EASILY get you 1degC
accuracy. The variable parallax from your head wobbling on your neck will
give you more than 1degC variation when viewing a 90 degree deflection
gauge.

Typical OEM gauges use far less accurate methods of displaying temperature.
