This setup looks interesting: http://www.decware.com/newsite/dbk10.htm If you buy their plans and driver (looks hell-for-stout) it's $105 (plus s&h, I assume)- building the box would be fairly cheap. Check thru the links- I particularly like that the box is easily 'tunable'- as in you don't have to be an acoustical engineer. I dunno how well it would fit under the bench at those dimensions, tho. I was thinking about building one of these and then if I liked it, adapting the design to building a 2 x 10 bass (guitar) cabinet. Wally•Mart sells kits to make subwoofer enclosures for both 10" and 12" speakers. I was at the pawn shop today and saw some nice 10" in enclosures for $60 each, and if I had the extra $ I could have gotten the pair for $100. I've been looking for a powered unit, but am staying open to going the component route. BTW, I finished re-wiring my stereo so that it is powered via relay through the "key in ignition" circuit-SWEET!
