Hans Achter told me some months ago that DOKA is a contraction of the German words for double cab: "doppel" and "kabine", written as one word, doppelkabine. Hence the "k" in doka. You say the "e" on the end like the e in "etka", so kabine is three syllables. Here's a German web site about them: Chris On 3/27/06, JordanVw@aol.com <JordanVw@aol.com> wrote: > In a message dated 3/26/06 11:52:45 PM Eastern Standard Time, > feller@CARBONCOW.COM writes: > > > > I always figured out DOKA was german for double cab, but someone pointed > > out > > the one for sale was not a DOKA...so what makes it a DOKA? > > > > Shawn > > > > > > "doka" is simply the german nickname for a doublecab. has nothing to do if > its a VW or not. if you have a doublecab toyota or ford truck in germany it > will be referred to as a "doka" as well. > > chris > |
