I don't know the "someone" you're referring to so I can't speak to the truth of what they told you, if they actually know someone with an SA Grille, or if they actually said they were unhappy with the product. I can speak to the durability of the product. In it's "original' form I would say it's durable, effective, cool looking, and really of excellent quality. The original driving light mounting buckets with the SA Grill are durable, well made, have adjusting screws to adjust the aim...all A+. I think some people do not have the original driving light buckets and that could make the mounting of the driving lights flimsy in whatever way the rigged them up. As for the actual grill, it is a soft somewhat flexible plastic. But for my money that flexibility only makes it more durable as it has a little bit of give. But it is in no way so flexible that it would flap in the wind. All in all I think it's sturdy and as sold as the original grills that came on the US busses if only a little less brittle. I've had mine for about 6 years or more with no trouble. That's my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary. Anyone who thinks differently than I do is most likely wrong ;) Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA |
