HA! That's great. An unforeseen side effect of an engine transplant. It's something I had come to take for granted and so had forgotten about with my stock powered 83.5 Westfalia-- I never worry about speed traps. Passing on hills you say? I once passed an old split window with a huge high top the guy had converted to a camper going up a huge grade in Utah. I could only hot about 40 MPH and it was the first vehicle I ever passed on such a steep grade. Coincidentally (or not) the guy ended up pulling into a service station next to me. I remarked that his was the first vehicle I ever passed on an up hill. He said kind of indignantly, "My bus is a little older than yours!" Ooops. Just having some fun. Thanks for the trip report. Looking forward to the full report. Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA |
