This thread came up a while back and my KSC-SW1 has been sitting on the
shelf in my garage the whole time. :-)
I have a camper. For me it is important to have the sub up front so I can
also adjust the fader of the head unit and allow people and dogs to sleep in
the back. I just need to get out there with the thing and experiment with
locations so I can speak from a position of knowledge instead of
speculation, but here are a few ideas I had.
1- Somewhere behind the dash. - A fellow listee already ruled this out
stating its too crowded.
2 - Mounted to the sink cabinet behind the driver's seat. - If mounted low
enough might not interfere with seat rotation
3 - Overhead under the headliner. - How much of a gap is there between the
haeadliner and the metal roof? The KSC-SW1 is only 3-11/16"H. I have to
remove the headliner anyway to install my DVD monitor and was thinking about
tack welding a couple bolts and pointing the sub down.
4 - "..under the driver's seat if the front of the pedestal is cut to reveal
the secret compartment?" - Can someone elaborate on this, possibly provide a
picture? I'm not familure with the "secret compartment". Where would you
cut?
Hopefully, I can spend some time this weekend and report back.
Thanks,
Mike
