Chris,

Since you seem to like to post these vehicles for sale and break down the details for everybody, let me make a comment on at least this one. First off the Seller says this in the auction description:

"The difference between this truck and any other though is this: the rarified DOMESTIC version. That is, these were primarily imported and estimates range from 40-70 trucks TOTAL in the USA. " ** To the best of my knowledge, VW did not officially import any Dokas for US consumption. But then, who nows? Let's look at this guy's auction for a second. He provides a link to a Carfax document. If you read through to the Full History section, you wil find that it was first registered in CANADA in 03/30/98. Gee, if it was "the rarified DOMESTIC version." where was it hiding for 10 years? Even if it was in Canada, then it's not domestic to the US. I could go on and on and pick the thing down to the details down to the bare bones.

I mean look at this remark, "This vehicle has been registered domestically so you can actually drive it! (unlike most imports which do not meet regulations). I'm sorry US registration does not guarantee it was imported legally.* *Can't we just leave this subject alone? If they got it in the US and got it registered w/o doing anything because their state allows it, GOOD for them. I would stop short of making a glaring endorsement that it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I don't mean to sound grumpy but I've seen this sort of posting too often on the list lately that usually precitates an emotional exchange. My finger slipped off the delete key and started typing this response. Sorry, Chris. I'll make sure my finger is pointed in the right direction next time. Delete. Delete. =)

Lives on sale at Walmart 2 for a $1. I'm running out to buy a dozen. Anyone want one?
