A while back there was a bit of bother here about where Dunedin is. Well, this is from the "Scotsman News" daily e-newspaper.

On 23 March 1848 the ship John Wickliffe anchored at Port Chalmers, New Zealand. From here Scottish settlers founded the city of Dunedin (the Gaelic name for Edinburgh). One of the city founders was Rev Thomas Burns, a nephew of the poet Robert Burns. To read about travelling Scots visit heritage.scotsman.com
