I heard somewhere that if you use the 14-cylinder version of this engine you
have to use a Porsche transmission. Apparently the stock Vanagon 4-speed
tranny, and even the diesel 5-speed tranny, won't hold up under 5,608,312
lb/ft of torque.


SA big brakes are also recommended.
