Thank you for the many good suggestions. I will plan to get to the Delta.
I did spend some time there last March--in Houma. My Vanagon had broken
down so I was there for a week. We managed to find a local guide who took
us to see some examples of local outdoor art and to better see the Delta.

I plan to get back to Houma to at least visit the mechanic who tried his
best to save my failing engine. Unfortunately, it eventually had to be
replaced after I limped home--but that's another story.
