RE: 1985 Vanagon ignition switch? OK....I "got serious" and got it off.....just needed to persuasion..... Now I may have a real problem.....Comparing my 2 ign. switches: Original: 6 male wire terminals, 2 marked "S" and "P" New: 4 male wire terminals, no "S" or "P"..... What gives...and will it work? Help...I'm on step #8 of 10 steps to R & R the ign. switch on my 1985 Vanagon. Here's what it says..... -#7 - remove blinker/wiper arm assembly......done, OK.... -#8 - *Pull ignition switch housing off the streering column......the allen bolt (1) is removed.....the assembly is loose..... The ign. switch housing near that allen bolt is moving but the area up "top" where the 3 small blinker/wiper arm assembly bolts went does not want to move....... I'm probably just being too careful.....any tips. I just don't want to break something ELSE.......... Larry Georgia |
