That's fine, just kidding about the bet anyway. Both pieces of wood together with the metal hinges and metal reinforcing bar on one edge of the wood weigh 36 lbs, a little below your lowest number. The total weight of the upper bed WITH mattresses is under 50 lbs. I don't consider that heavy, in the context of a 4000 lb vehicle. It seems reasonable to say that with a little less than 135 for the top, a little less than 50 for the bed, minus some for the missing roof metal, a complete Westy top adds something like 175 lbs total. People have asked this many times over the years.
