Hello, My 85  1.9 westy got 22.5 mpg last summer, on a trip. Nothin special
about  the condition or tune on this vehicle. It  is a 4 speed. The road
was flat,the whole way. I would guess that in summer , in Iowa, starting at
noon  with  a new tank of gas, and only traveling at 55mph(yeah right),
24mpg is possiable.Driving without stopping,going up hill,and burning the
entire tank with a van that was warmed up first.
