RE: My question on shocks After reading the responses I received to my question I did a little browsing. Based on the responses and the diagrams I found at the websites of several manufacturers I was basing my question on bad information. I find no indication that any shocks today are using a variable diameter metering rod to control internal fluid flow in a shock absorber. I was basing my assumption on a cutaway display model seen many years ago, brand unknown. But thanks again for the good and knowledgeable responses.
