If you carefully remove about a 1/4" semi-circle from each side of the grill, you create a space where you can use a flat bladed screwdriver to spring the push pins loose, thus avoiding the need for possibly damaging brute force. An electric drill held sideways to the grill makes a nice cutting substitute if you don't have a dremel tool handy. The new holes are not noticeable unless you get very close to the grill, so appearance is not compromised.

BTW, new lights, wires, and relays make an extraordinary improvement over the factory setup.
