Subject: Re: Swapping late sway bar links to '82?

Hey man, I just went and looked at my end links. I have both kinds on two 85s.Looks like maybe a toss up.I suppose either end links will bolt up. The straight link may have trouble in operation, though.Need to actually try to install them to be sure. However, the sheet metal lower control arm is wider than the cast iorn control arm. The end link is mounted further away from the coil spring than the straight link.Because of this, the early end link has a dog leg to reach the sway bar end. From where it is mounted on the control arm, the distance is greater than with the cast iorn control arm.Because the cast iorn control arm has the end link mounted closer to the coil spring, the end link is only staright. The actual diameter of the large hole ,on the links , are the same. The rubber bushings have different size openings for the swaybar.
