What is the AMF resonance problem? Before I started to educate myself
about these vehicles I took my Vanagon to my excellent Porsche/Audi
mechanic. He replaced the AFM, along with fixing a bunch of vacuum
leaks. He told me "hates" working on Vanagons, so an explanation
regarding the AFM was not exactly forthcoming...
The AFM is probalby the newest, nicest looking component of the engine
at this point. haha. :-)

If power resumes and things appear OK for 30 seconds to one minute, then the problem is most likely the O2 sensor circuit. Check the archives. It may also be the Vanagon Air flow meter resonance problem but I am willing to bet O2 sensor or wiring.
