I just did this. see: http://www.benplace.com/fuel_line.htm
a great resource for this project. ben clarified that he removed the
little metal rings and used the clamps. That's what I did.
I got 3 meters of hose from Bus Depot, along with the clamps. When I
removed all my fuel lines, I found all kinds of clamps. Some worm gear
hose clamps, some original crimp on, and one that was the same as the ones
I got from Bus Depot. It was the only one that was still in good working
order. It did seem to be stainless vs the one from BD seemed to be cad
plated. several pieces of hose started seeping fuel when I started pulling
on them. Many people recommend replacing the plastic piece where the fuel
line comes through the firewall, so I did that. My plastic piece seemed to
be in fine condition, but others have reported it breaking off when they
try to take the hose off. Replacing it also removes 2 connections and a
tiny piece of rubber hose from the system. I ran the hose through a piece
of heater hose where it went through the firewall to prevent chafing.
