I'm making ready for a one day round trip from Birmingham, AL to Chattanooga, TN, all the while towing a trailer with my van on my new Haynes hitch. I made a test run today and discovered with the trailer hooked up, on grade under load I would hear a spark rattle. Anytime this happens is not good, but on a long trip it can be death to an engine. I need to adjust the timing before the journey but I have never done it before. Did it on my old beetles and aircooled breadbox, but never on this 2.1L WBX. Any hints, tips, watch-out-for's, or general commentary ..... all would be appreciated. Thanks, Regards, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver |
