Two years ago the rivets broke on my '84's accelerator pedal (auto trans) and I replaced them with small nuts and bolts. One year ago they broke on my '85 (manual trans) and I put long screws in the holes (that just slid right in) just so I could get home. Well, guess what? ... They're still there. I'm going to have to do it right one of these days. Mike
