Blake,

You can use a #11 X-acto knife to cut the old fuel injector hoses from under the metal collars and the collars will then fall away free.

On my '85 I reused the collars as they provide a compression lock on the hoses. That was over 2 years ago and I haven't had any leaks or weeps.

The year before that I did the ones on my '84 and I reused the collars AND put hose clamps next to them. For myself, I've decided that the addition of hose clamps isn't necessary. Just reusing the collars works fine for me.
