Hugeonot City Park is on the north side of the mouth of the St. Johns River. You can access the beach with your vehicle. It also has primitive campsites for $6.00 per night with a decent bathhouse and a small store. I spent 3-weeks there living in my Camper while doing contract work and enjoyed it alot. South on A1A you can take the ferry across the St. Johns River to Mayport. It's a baby ferry but fun, and you can buy spiced, boiled peanuts on the Mayport side.
