Hi all I think that I forgot to mention that goal on rust-bucket-bus, is to have it for 2 years, and a max of 3000 km. I do not drive that much. Tomorrow is big day, we'll get it on a lift and see from below how the options are. Today I attacked some of the rustspots in the floor in the passenger compartment. Some was very fast grinded away, but in one area I got a surprise, when I began sanding, it showed that the bottom is so thin, that itjust got more and more holes! Sigh......................... Sprayed the bare metal with zink-paint, 90% zink :-) BTW, looked in at the frontgrill. Found a VERY wet piece af "mat" in there, attached to the lower of the radiator. According to Haynes it is the radiator undertray - but it was soaking wet. SO I understand some of the bad rust at the front, as the radiator undertray has acted as a sponge, keeping the area very wet. Check out your radiator undertray, and make sure it isnt a sponge. Seems like something /JJ |
