We amused ourselves on the long second gear climbs on our way to Targhee a
few years ago by making that series of calculations Dennis. We went over
several 7000' + passes and if I remember correctly ( the numbers are in the
Owner's Manual) we were down to 53 hp at the top. Sure felt like less! We
took VW at their word and used 82 as the starting point.
