John,

I suspect the lack of serious interest in the WBX turbo kits is due to people's apprehension about the Wasserboxer as a reliable engine. Those who choose to stay with the WBX are typically the same guys who want to stay with stock equipment only. The turbo on a WBX is not stock in US spec Vanagons or any other markets I can think of. Then there's emissions certifications. In the land of Vanagon owners aplenty (AKA California), emissions certification will be expensive if not impossible.

Cheers,

BenT
