Subject: Re: Useful Fuel Load

I told this story once, but I'll tell it here ,again. This is vanagon content, and may help a future strandee. I ran out of gas in my driveway. I had just driven home, and was going to go get gas first thing when I left the next time. I thought I had some gas left. Well, I went out to my vanagon to go somewhere, and it wouldnt run . It would start, but not rev. What the ?? I got out my tools and meters out and started to find out why.Is this an electrical or fuel problem? After 15 minutes, I remembered how a vanagon runs out of gas(dont ask). The engine will start and run, but not rev, as the fuel in the lines is used up.The gas pressure goes down till all is gone.Guess I cut the margin a bit to tight that time.I swear I had some gas left in there. It seems that there two types of vanagon owners. Those that have run out of gas, and those that have not run out of gas yet,but will.I went and got the lawnmower's gas can.
