Subject: Programmable Intermittent Wiper Relay

Hey all,

After the discussion earlier this week about programmable wiper relays, I decided to give both relays a "test run", which was quite easy since it's been raining here in Sacramento for the last month!

As many of you may remember, the KAE relay differs from the VW OE relay in the manner in which you set the interval.

The VW relay sets the interval by setting the wiper switch to the intermittent setting, and then off for however long you want the interval, and then back to intermittent.

The KAE relay sets the interval by setting the wiper switch to the intermittent setting, briefly pull the wiper stalk back, wait however long you want the interval, and lastly, briefly pull the wiper stalk back again.

Both work great. Personally, I found the KAE easier to operate while driving. A quick pull on the wiper stalk is not enough to engage the washer motor so there's no worries about spraying or emptying your washer reservoir.

Just my two cents worth...

Cheers,
