Subject: H&R lowering springs - assistance identifying??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Oh, Mighty Vanagon List!

I have removed the H&R lowing springs from my recently acquired 85 Transporter and discovered that they don't look like or have the same part numbers as the H&R "Sport Springs" that I have seen FS around the web. The H&R Sport Springs I've been able to look at on various web sites are red in color and are part number 29951. For examples see http://www.van-cafe.com/vanagonparts.jsp?pa=p <http://www.van-cafe.com/vanagonparts.jsp?pa=p&p=1758499021> &p=1758499021 or http://www.gprparts.com/brands/hrSprings/iframe.asp?http://www.gprparts.com/ item.wws?cookieID=904171167 <http://www.gprparts.com/brands/hrSprings/iframe.asp?http://www.gprparts.com /item.wws?cookieID=904171167&sku=29951&mfr=GPR:HR> &sku=29951&mfr=GPR:HR

Mine are green and have part numbers 100 22 100 VA on the front springs (11-3/4" tall) and 100 22 101 UH on the rears (8-5/8" tall). Both fronts and rears also have 5/2001 written on them next to the H&R brand name. I can e-mail a photo of my springs that clearly show this information.

I Googled the part numbers on my springs and came up with a German language match. http://www.auto-exclusiv.de/Tuning/H_R/Cup-Kit_Fahrwerke/VW/vw.html This web site may have some information but doesn't help me as I don't understand German.

It's possible that they are the same and just a different color but I would like to sell these springs at some point and would like to know more about what I'm offering; more than that they make a Transporter single cab ride about 2" lower and hug the curves nicely!

Can anyone offer any insight?

Thanks,

Andrew
