Subject: cleaning fuel pump
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I recently changed my fuel filter and somehow I am guessing that doing so dislodged some debris which ended up in the pump. I learned about this when my van wouldn't start today as I was going to move from one errand to another. This was the first time my van has ever refused to start, and this coupled with the fact that I was parked front row outside of the local Old Navy with a steady audience made me very eager to get the thing going again. After breaking the multimeter out and running some tests,,, then getting gas all over my arm when I checked the new filter (had a nearly full tank) I decided to try reversing the electrical connections on the pump. After a brief crank over and then setting the wires to rights the van cranked right up. Old Navy and I were really glad that someone had mentioned the fuel pump reversal technique recently as it certainly worked.

Thanks List,,
