I am not sure of your terminology, but use the proper socket to remove the 6 cv bolts at the trans axel. Not the 6 at the hub end.4 bolts hold the hub on the trailing arm.Remove them. Put a jack under the trailing arm at the coil spring.When the shock is removed, the spring will let its tension go.The jack will control this. Lower the jack/trailing arm after the shock is removed.Maybe tag which end of the spring is up. I dont know if this is important. Maybe plan on regreasing the cv. I see folks that take this assembely from a parts vanagon at junkyards often. A quick brake job,cv job,brake drum,and bearing all in one.This leaves a nice ez to remove trailing arm,but nobody ever takes one.Just be aware that the spring is under tension and only held in by the shock, and you will do good.This is a straight forward repair. |
