I just replaced my lines this weekend using the same instructions. The original “cuffs” were a very solid connection. Pictures I see of new injectors all have the same compression fitting. I removed the compression cuffs and replaced them with FI clamps, but I am now questioning if that was the right thing to do. The double ridge step on the injector does not appear to be designed for a standard clamp as it is for the compression fitting. Has anyone ever had any long term problems doing this?
On the other hand, having every hose, fitting, clamp and widget replaced from the filler neck to the injector seals gives me good peace of mind!

I'm working on fuel line replacement with the help of Ben Huot's excellent website here: http://www.benplace.com/fuel_line.htm
At the injectors there are these little metal "cuffs." What is their purpose? How are the short hoses attached with no clamps on the injector end? It looks like I could get the clamp closer to the injector if I remove them. Should I leave them on? It looks like Ben left them on. Ben, how did you get your injectors so nice and clean? On your website they look grungy in one photo, then sparkling clean in the next. Or did you replace them, and what we see are the new ones?
