Some have allen bolts, most have the 12-point bolts, and some have a mixture of the two due to what was on hand. The 12-point bolt is 8mm, and any REAL FLAPS will have it (NAPA, Sears, Snap-on) as a "8mm 12-point" bit. If the outer ones have been rounded out, you might try using the next size up Torx or Allen bit and hammering it in. This may render that tool as a one-time-use, but that's not a size that has any other use on a VW. |
