Thanks for the note.

I wish that were the case. But, everything is disconnected and removed.

I still can't believe that I'm the only one who has seen this problem. In a general web search, I've found info about aluminum heads sticking to studs, but nothing Vanagon specific. In most cases, the recommendation is to try to unscrew the stud. However, then I come to notes about removing a stud from an aluminum crank case and lots of warnings about this is best avoided and if it has to be done, it is probably Helicoil time.
