If you adjusted the brakes after inspecting them, then something is wrong there. They are supposed to be self adjusting. My bet is that you adjusted them wrong and the brakes are dragging and after a short run they are expanding and getting even tighter. Did you adjust the handbrake after adjusting the star wheel between the shoes? If so, you screwed up the works. I have posted brake adjustment procedures in the past. Check the archives. I have to run for now, but if you need instructions again, I will be happy to help you later.

Okay, got a mystery problem, looking for ideas as to what's going on. Vehicle is a stock '90 Westy, stock 2.1L w/Digifant, automatic transmission. Work just done: Set of rebuilt injectors installed, new Bilsteins in the front, rear brakes inspected and adjusted, emergency brake adjusted.

Runs fine at startup, cold. In just a minute or two, as warming up, and then on, two things occur. First, when coming to a stop or starting from a stop there is slight shudder to the van just as it stops moving, just as it starts moving. It feels a lot like clutch chatter, but no clutch, it's an automatic. But the big problem is no power when starting from a stop. Once rolling, but accelerating very slowly, and the revs get to about 2k, everything is great, runs fine, plenty of power. If I had a carburetor, I'd say it was the accelerator pump, that's the way it feels.

Checked the tranny fluid, all up to the marks. Oil okay. There was no sign of this before the work, never had anything like it in four plus years of driving this van. Has to be, in my mind, one of three things: Something in the FI system got unplugged during the work, there is something wrong with all four injectors (not likely) or, and this seems absurd, the rear brakes are doing something weird after the adjustment, like hanging or dragging.

Anyone recognize these symptoms?
