It's actually more a part of the whole wing window frame assembly than a piece rivetted on. Plus, if the vertical is rusted the other two sides of the triangle probably are as well. Best solution is to find someone selling a pair of good whole wing window assemblies and replace them whole. Note that replacing the wing window assembly requires removing the window glass, which requires pulling ALL the window weather seal parts and pulling the door panel off, so be sure to budget 2-3 hours for the task. I replaced my non opening wings with opening wings and the first one took me 2 hours, while the second took 45 minutes. A bit of a learning curve to it.
