Thanks, I will take a look for this - I must have missed it. Hopefully I can still get it out - the key will not turn the cylinder at all. It is either seized (I have doused with PB blaster for a year now...) or the key is wrong. The van came with 5 keys, only one of which works in all the locks except this one. The other keys work in some locks but not others. Once I get this one out, I plan to re-file all the locks to match a good key. I suspect the PO never locked anything, so the lock just seized in the open position. The passenger door was similar. VW locks don't like being not used for a long time I guess, dissimilar metals and all.
