The enrichment is there to compensate for the fuel not vaporizing. Emissions are also higher during this time because the catalyst is "lighted". If you do lean the mixture, you will have drivability problems. The warm up time should be short and there are standards that had to be meet so this would really be a wasted effort.

I know when the Digifant system is in the warm-up cycle that, just like the carb models with chokes, enrichment is going on.

In newer vehicles this enrichment is much more controlled so that you don't get the big "stink" as the vehicle is warming up.

Is there anyway to improve (in other words, lower emissions) during the warm up cycle on a 2.1 waterboxer. Has anybody ever looked into this. What adjustments are possible to at least "best" this situation.
