I cannot believe no one has reminded this unfortunate Vanagon owner to check the blinker fluid!!!

If she hasn't already run the master blinker cylinder out of fluid, perhaps someone topped it up with the wrong type, which would almost certainly cause the symptoms she is seeing.

Synthetic DOT8 blinker fluid will raise all manner of havoc in these older systems, which specifically call for only the finest organic DOT7 type, harvested from the sap of the fabled Upas hydra-tree deep in the tropical forests of Macassar, hand-squeezed by dusky Indonesian maidens, and finally filtered though one of Ferdinand Porsche's black silk knee socks.

It's all there, printed right on the cap!

Installing the correct fluid will have you blinking in no time. If you have trouble finding the blinker fluid reservoir, just stop and see if the youngsters at your local VW dealer service center can find it.

Good luck!
