William,

Attached is a zip file that contains numerous files about diagnosing fuel injection problems in the WBX engine, particularly the 2.1 l engine.

New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc., almost never solve this type of problem, but people who don't know how to diagnose the problems throw the parts at the customer's van for a start.

Often the problem can be as simple as a bad wire or one or more dirty grounds. These cause incorrect information to get to the ECU. Other times something such as the O2 sensor needs to be replaced, but there are ways to test this rather than just going out and buying new parts. (Disconnect the 02 sensor and run for a few days and see if the problem goes away. Running without it is OK.)

These files will explain how to systematically go through the possible causes and eliminate them one by one.

List member Mark Keller wrote these files
