I often think a price like this gets determined in the following way:

Spouse: I'm sick and tired of you spending all your time and money on that van.

- LONG ARGUMENT -

Owner (after a long argument): Fine I'll sell it, but you don't want us to loose money on the deal do you?

Spouse: Of course not!

Owner: OK Then I'll list it for what I paid, plus all the enhancements, plus dealer shop rate labor for all the work I've done since I got it. If it doesn't sell by late spring we'll keep it for anothe camping sason OK?

Spouse: Deal
