Hey there list,
I'm pleased to announce that i passed inspection this week!  my 86 GL is
running pretty smoothly, no smoke anymore, idles real nicely, has plenty of
power and i even got my bad oil leak fixed (was the pressure sensor.)

the last major problem I have, and one i've just noticed now that everything
else is fixed is that when it's nice and warm, really warm after driving
more than 15 - 20 minutes it develops a bad lag.. mostly at speeds over 35
m.p.h. or so.  once it starts i'm sure to make it lag if i floor it.. but
only if i'm driving.  this is very difficult to replicate when the engine
isn't under a load.

I found the fuel pressure in front of the injectors to be within spec when
idling but haven't measured the volume of gas that the fuel pump is moving.
the fuel pump makes a slight whining noise but i'm assuming it's normal.  i
certainly can't hear it from inside of the van.

when it lags, it's as if someone shut off the ignition for a second or so,
the rpms drop very quickly then it comes back.  it's worse at higher speeds
but will do it sometimes even at idle.

i've gone through the grounds and cleaned them up nicely, the distributor
looks ok, plugs look ok, not sure about the wires.

any suggestions?
