Geo

thanks for posting your experience please let us know how things with the engine and gowesty go in the future. sounds like you had less little wrong with your gowesty engine than i did. i had missing spark plugs, broken bolts left in the case, tapped holes filled with sand and dirt, bent valve covers, a heli-coil that was put in on a angle for the oil drain plug causing it to leak all the time, and a lifter adjustment screw that broke off in 300 miles into the break in period leaving the van stranded.

if they offer to cover their mistakes at all it will most likely be the "shop to shop" rate. basically what that boils down to is that they heavily discount what you actually paid to fix the mistake they shipped you.

what the ecu thing is about is that they have never dynoed this engine with the digijet system as far as they told me a few years back. they have done most of their testing with the digifant system. the ecu swap is an attempt to compensate for the fact that the stock digijet system and the stock ignition curve in the distributor has difficulty compensating for the engine design changes they have made. hopefully the new generation of bored out 1.9's is better than the 2212cc that i installed. it pinged alot, had super low vacuum, and wouldn't stay running at idle with the air conditioner on.
