Thanks for all your help! The van is at the shop at this time, i wish you all were my neighbor.

The engine did not seize(that i know of?),although i did not attempt a re-start then or before i shipped it out this morning (did i drop the ball here?). The power dropped rapidly, dash warning lights came on, there was no major clanking or grinding and i immediately pulled over, there was no warning. The old filter was still here with the old rubber gasket on it so i think i can rule that out zolo, thanks. About a quart of oil was gone and no water on the dip stick when i checked. I don't think it was a torque converter loss or failure at this time.

Roger sisler's idea of an oil cooler's "O' ring problem or something with the oil pump is a possibility but my mechanical skills and knowledge are not par to the lists' folks. We're hope'n it's something that won't break the bank, but aren't we all in this situation?

and the beat goes on.....always appreciate your ideas and comments....isn't that why we are here?.....thanks!
