FYI - Idle computer = Idle Stabilizer Control, behind right taillight

I did look for vacuum leaks, and found none. I think this stands to reason, since (1) the engine never misfires, hesitates, or otherwise acts weird, suggesting no unmetered air is getting in, and (2) when I unplug the wire to the idle air bypass valve, the idle speed returns to normal, again without any misbehaviour.

I'm with Ken. sounds like a vacuum leak.

Check the hose from the Crankcase vent on top of the engine over to the AFM. These will rot out on the bottom and go un-noticed. Caused me all kinds of idle grief until I found it.
