Was it severly overheated? Could be engine damage. Maybe burnt valves,weak
valve springs,warped head,or some other upper end damage.I think it can
damage rings too. If it is a 1.9 WBX the water pump most likely has gouged
a part of the aluminum case. Not to worry,cause I think this dosent
matter,but a JB weld stick can fill this in.Water pump replacement in a 1.9
vanagon is so expensive that a bad water pump can total a vanagon.
