Subject: Emergency Brake - not locking
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

So the other day when I had my van put on the tow truck bed (do to the coolant hose leak, which I had repaired), the technician had me put the emergency brake on. He had the Van chained at both ends but he had to tilt the van on the bed several times making the brakes really have to have some serious gripping. It never skidded or moved on the bed ever, but it had me a little nervous.

Well when we arrived to the house, I disengaged the emergency brake and drove it off the tow truck bed and I never bothered to test the emergency brake afterward, well today something told me to test it. Now for some reason the hand brake lever will not lock! I checked the line itself and itıs fine, it just will not lock when I pull the handle up.

I assume that something in the hand brake is broken, any ideas before I attempt taking it apart?

Thanks In advance.
