if this is the same type of bulb that is used in the shift lever box, i just did this yesterday. the factory bulbs are soldered into place and the new bulbs won't work - they're designed for a snap in black bulb box. the black holder that's compatible w/ the new-type bulbs can be purchased from the dealer for about $8 each. this leads me to my next post to the list which would be (or will be) what all should light up on the dash? i'm trying to go through and replace bulbs where they're needed. hope that helps! dusty.
