Kim, Not sure what is triple square but I know allens are junk. When you buy a kit from busdepot they give you new screws that require a special socket. I attached the socket to an extention and taped it on so I can easily remove the outside cv screws. Imagine what you would have to do to get a stripped outside allen. Use wd40 when removing any type as anything can strip. regards gary Date: Fri, 28 Apr 2006 00:43:25 -0400 From: Kim Brennan <kimbrennan@MAC.COM> Subject: CV Bolts So, when I was removing my CV joints from my front diff and transmission, almost all of my bolts were of the triple square variety....except on one CV, which had 6 allens instead. So, which is considered "better"? I went by my VW dealer, and when the ordered some, they came in as allen head, not triple squares. They had some triple squares available, but they were slightly shorter (5mm maybe) and the threads didn't extend as far. ------------------------------
