I notice the aftermarket end caps have holes for carriage bolts for the centre of the bumper edge, yet my '82 bumpers do not have holes here. Maybe later stock bumpers have these holes? As for your new bumpers, how far off were the holes? On the rear at least, if you loosen or remove the brackets from the frame, you should get some wiggle room.
